Question:

What do you know about the oil-filled radiant electric heaters? Are they efficient & do they give off good heat? What about the portable kerosene units? They give off 10,000 btu. I want to put one of those heaters in my shop that is approx. 14x12, I don't want to use a wood stove for it will take up too much space.

Answer:

I'm not familiar with the oil-filled electric heaters but the best I've seen for this purpose is the 220V industrial box heater that has an element and a strong fan. I don't know that I'd want a kerosene unit in a shop and I'm sure you insurance people would have something to say about them too.
