Question:

I have a forced air electric furnace which heats my entire house by registers in every room. I find it becoming expensive so I'm going to install a chimney and wood burning stove. I don't want to get a wood furnace because I like the option of being able to heat with wood even when the power goes off. I would like to know if there is some way I could put a hood over the wood stove and send the heat through the same ducting that the electric furnace uses. This would efficiently circulate the heat to every room in the house.

Answer:

I don't see why you couldn't do that but you may have to allow for the system when the electric furnace is operating. Your ownership manual will inform you on all that.
