Can you please tell me which is better to lay in the long run - solid hardwood flooring or engineered hardwood for an above grade level application? While I realize they say engineered expands and contracts less I have to wonder if a solid product will have a longer life if layed properly. Has engineered flooring been around long enough for a true long term assessment?

The engineered product is as good as it gets but you won't be able to sand it as many times as you would a well laid 3/4" product.
