HI Arzeena: I have some cedar hedges and some parts of the hedges are turning brown . I have watered it everyday but to no avail. .We did get alot of snow in ottawa this winter, do you think that may be the problem. Can you give any advice to this new and inexpreinced gardener. Thank You.(naresh)

If the whole plant has turned brown, it does indeed sound like the weather was the culprit. When cedars experience rapid changes in temperature, the whole plant will turn brown. Snow helps to insulate them and if there is none, they're quite vulnerable.
I'm afraid it sounds like the tree is a gonner.
If you're planning to replant, wait until the fall when the rains come again. One of the reasons the tree dies is that the soil dries out. Since the roots are so shallow, they are quite susceptible to this.
