I have another problem with the tree in front of my house. It is a tall tree (25'), 20 years old (type of tree is not known to me- it has round leaves and is not evergreen) and is infected with bugs in its trunk around 6' from ground. Around 1' of portion in height has been eaten away by bugs. The tree trunk is almost half in diameter at that height. The tree might break in high wind. Is there a solution to apply something to the tree to prevent it from furhter damage? I heard of burning and applying coal tar to seal it away.
Answer:
Take s single leave and visit your local nursery with it. They'll identify the tree and tell you how to do away with the bugs.
