We are soon replacing the 40 yr. old floor tiles in our home. We are debating between wood or ceramic tiles. We'd like to use wood, but I'm concerned about our 2 dogs & 3 cats. They play and run around inside. I'm afraid wood would scratch too easily. Do you think I we used wood flooring, we'd regret it pretty quickly? What about the parquet flooring? Is it better to use? Does ceramic tile scratch?
Answer:
Wood is going to scratch no matter how you treat it. For ceramic tile you'll need to have 1.5" of wood underneath it for integrity. Now the ball's back in your court waiting for a decision! Good luck!
