Question:

our home is about 40 years old and have hardwood floors. We want to refinish the hardwood floors but it is such a time consuming process and what do you do with the furniture while the floors are being re-finished? From what I read, laminate flooring is easy to install, is durable and looks great. In your opinion, which would you recommend? We have 2 teenagers, a beagle and a cat.I know that refinishing hardwood is probably going to be cheaper. What other considerations should be taken into account when deciding?

Answer:

Everything else is OK but the beagle will do as much of a number on the laminate as it did on the hardwood so you should plan on this being a repetitive process for as long as you have a dog. Hardwood can at least be refinished while the laminate would have then to be replaced.
