Question:

My daughter lives in Toronto and is constantly worried about the raccoons in her garbage pails. Am I correct in telling her that you said music i.e. playing a radio, would drive them away?
If not music, what would you advise?

Answer:

Music does a number on them for a while but garbage will bring them back on account of the odour. I put lids on my waste bins and then tie the handle to a fence I have there so the cans cannot be tipped over. That has worked for me for a few months now.
