I once heard you mention how to get rid of carpenter bees. I gave the information to my father in law. I should have kept it myself. How do I get rid of them?
Answer:
I'm not sure it was a carpenter bee I was getting rid of but they nexted in ground and I left a fresh steak bone at the entry to their next. That night the skunks or raccoons found the bone, heard the little critters undergound, dug them up and ate everything including the bees. For the ones that have hives, I wait until dark, slip a plastic grocery bag over the hive and tie it off.
