I've had a hornets nest under my front galery all summer. It's under a cement slab type of porch. It's a round hole in the ground going under the slab. Now that they don't seem to be flying shud I put something into the hole or will they not come back next year?
Answer:
They'll probably come back next year. If you live in an area where vermin (skunks, racoons, etc.) wander around at night, you might try suffing a steak bone in the hole. This will be found by your wild guests and they'll dig out the nest to eat everything that's there. Desperation forced me to try this at the cottage someyears ago and I've used it with great success on several occasions since.
