Question:

I have a wood deck that I put a sunroom on. The deck is at ground level set on buried posts. I want to put a pool table in the sunroom but I would like to put an indoor/outdoor carpet on the deck first. Should I put a plywood (OSB, ?)base on the deck as a flatter support for the carpet? I thought it might keep the moisture from coming up thru the deck flooring gaps. I appreciate your suggestions.

Answer:

Plywood at least 5/8" thick is a must but I would want to be careful if there is nothing keeping the moisture down (plywood won't do it) because pool tables are usually quite expensive and moisture coming up from underneath will certainly have a negative impact on that.
