I've inherited an old (50+ years) oak bedroom set which my grandmother stripped about 10 years ago. My problem is that she then stained it using linseed oil, so it has a very dark finish. I would like to restore the furniture to a semblance of its original look. Any idea how to do that?

Consult a local furniture repair and refinishing company and if there is anything out there to neutralize the linseed oil, and that will have to be done first, they'll have it for you.
