I am stripping the lacquer off an inexpensive wine rack -I plan on staining it a darker shade to match my teak dining room furniture. In some of the spots where I applied the stripper some black dots have appeared. Most of the lacquer has been removed but now I have the black spots - should I wait until the furniture is completely dry and sand it? Do you have any suggestions to remove these black spots?
Answer:
The dark spots have first to be identified. They could be part of the wood and that may mean that they're there to stay. I would find one in an inconspicuous spot and try to determine how deep it goes. You might be able to just sand it off.
