Question:

I have a diningroom table made of beech wood that's about 20 years old and has some bare spots. What would you recommend to bring back a full shine?

Answer:

If the spots are actually bare you may have to refinish them to match the rest of the table before wiping the whole thing down with a mild paint thinner to get rid of the various body oils that are on it and then give the whole thing a finishing coat of either liquid plastic or lacquer.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects. Remember, even if you don’t do your own work around the house have to hire someone, you put yourself at a great advantage when you can intelligently discuss a project with the various trades people.
