Question:

I'm sure you've seen every piece of office furniture there is, especially those long office desks that at times are L-shaped or just plain long. Well, my office component terminology is really bad. I need to know what the name of those long plasic or rubber looking things that are on the edges of office desks. The're usually used when you have a desk that is going to be spread with formica, then the sides of the desk are cut inwards into a certain shape so that these plasic/rubber things are simply inserted, or snapped into the sides of the desk.. possibily also glued too so they don't ever come back out. Well, Ren, I have no idea as to what they're called so I can order them.

Answer:

These things are called 'edge bandings' and anyone who deals with kitchen & bath counter tops will be able to guide toward a source for them.
