Question:

Can you tell me what the name of the laminate that is commonly used on computer desks, or entertainment centers. It is very thin like paper. I assumed it was arborite but when I went to look the arborite was much thicker. Would you know what it is called?

Answer:

The only thing thinner appears to be melimine (sp)and that certainly isn't thick enough. The counter and desk tops you're talking about are mostly made of the familiar plastic laminates (arborite, formica, wilson art, etc.) so you might want to check again.
