We have been inundated with birds this spring, and they are making a mess! We had a few last year, but during the last few weeks our driveway. and especially around our pool area is filthy. We have cleaned the pool, and started it up, but it is still bird poop everywhere. Any idea how to get rid of these dirty pests? - or head them back to the bush?
Answer:
As long as they have something to eat in the area they'll roost in the area. About the only thing you can do is remove whatever they're roosting on - trees, clothes lines, power lines, telephone & cablevision lines, etc. The norm is for them to defecate as they take off so you end up with a pattern. Your local nursery might be able to help you. I've seen patio restaurants string fishing line about ten or twelve feet off the ground in a random grid pattern and that seems to keep them away to a certain extent. Ain't Mother Nature grand!
In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
Remember, even if you don’t do your own work around the house have to hire someone, you put yourself at a great advantage when you can intelligently discuss a project with the various trades people.
