I am thinking of replacing my vinyl kitchen floor. The salesman says to install 1/8" mahogany on top of the existing vinyl, and then the new vinyl on top of that. Is this OK or should I remove the existing vinyl and 1/4" underlay and start over.
Rather than just accepting the salesman's word for the system, you might want to take a look at the manufacturer's recommendations. I've not heard of 1/8" products being used but the 1/4" product is very well known indeed.
