The problem is our shower is leaking down into the kitchen ceiling a bit and we're not sure the best remedy. Have had 2 individuals in to look @ our ensuite shower stall. One is recommending the removal of tiles and replace the membrane and drywall with concrete sheeting. The other individual suggested simply retiling over the existing tile (i.e. not removing the old wall tiles).

Whichever one you go with should trace the leak first because perhaps its neither of those. Removing is messy and expensive. Tiling over the old tiles may be very temporary if it works at all because it could be the drain that's faulty.
