We need a new roof and two of the quotes we got, said that new skylights were a must as they were only meant to last as long as the roof. The third quote says that skylights were designed to last a lifetime and that they could simply be resealed if needed and used again. Who is correct? There are no problems with the skylights right now. The house is a two story and is about 18 years old.

Skylights last as long as windows - at least. The flashings around them have to be cleaned off really well when the shingles are being replaced but there should be no reason to replace them if they haven't been a problem in the past.
