Question:

our home was built 3 years ago and we just find out that our contractor who went bankrupt put only 1 inch of cement on the basement floor. will this cause problems in the future. can I put a subfloor made of plastic pegs and wood underneath the laminated floor. Will this cause me problem later on.

Answer:

For as long as you have only that one inch of concrete there, you'll have a problem with it. Cut it out, pour a proper 3-inch pad and go from there.
