I have a marble foyer and hallway that needs to be repolished (30 yrs old but looks quite good and is in good shape). I have gotten some estimates to do the job professionally but the price is astronomical ($500 to $1000). Is there any way that I can do this myself? and how?

Tell your troubles to your local toomb stone maker and he'll have some products to recommend to you. This is someone you'll have to meet sooner or later anyway so it might as well be when you walk into his shop rather than his very impersonal visit.
