I recently purcheased a house in the country and want to install a full wood burning fireplace in the basement, I'm not looking for good heat from it just decoration and the great feeling of a real fireplace. My dilemna is how to go about installing. the Chimney is built in all the way to the basement and has been closed off with insulation and vapour barrier sheet. I need to receive an estimate fro a professional for the work though I cannot seem to find anyone. Any ideas of whom or where to look for some people for quotes.

The first person to talk to is a mason and from there you'll probably talk to someone who sells fireplace inserts - not because you want an insert but they normally have the best contacts for firplace builders.
