I would like to add a door from the house to the garage. What type of door do I need and which way does the door have to swing (inswing vs outswing) to meet the Ontario Building Code?

I don't know what the Ontario Code demands but I do know tht it has to be a fire rated door and that it has to be properly weather stripped and have a good closer on it. You might want to check with your home insurance people for more particulars.
