We own a house way down south that has screened windows and wooden louvres on the outside. The louvres are operated by a crank that has a 'spindle' that goes from the handle, through the screen, into the 'crank' mechanism. The hole in the screen that the spindle goes through keeps getting larger and larger. Is there any way of repairing the screen as it is right now, or if we replace the screens, how do we prevent that opening from getting larger once we poke a hole in the screens for the spindle?
Answer:
You can design a gromet to fit the spindle and then fastenit to the bottom and side of the screen fram to keep it in place. That way the hole won't keep getting bigger andit will last forever.
