You have been so helpful in the past, I need to ask another question. What is the best way to oil the door hinges in the house? What kind of oil? How do I prevent the "black" dust or black film from getting on the door frame.
Answer:
Just put enough of a pocket book under the opposite-to-hinges edge of the door and pop the lower pin. Wipe it clean and then coat it with petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and put it back. Now do the same with the upper hinge and that's all there is to it. That should also look after all the black on the door hinge. If you need a cleaner to take it off, try varsol on a soft cloth.
