My son-in-law and I installed a 1/2 hp Garage Door Opener on their new house. The door continues to open on closing when it comes down in the vicinity of the sensors. After five or six tries it will then close. My son-in-law has reviewed manual and their doesn't appear to be a solution.

The contacts may need to be serviced because there is no such thing as no solution to this kind of thing.
