Question:

We have a center bay area at the back of the house with a large picture window in the middle and two tall narrow windows on each side. On the inside joint of one of the windows, we sometimes get water seepage around the window near the roof line. The back of the house is aluminum siding and the windows are wood clad. This water has seeped right thru and peeled off the drywall tape and paint. I need to repair the area but I don't want to do it without trying to figure out where the leak is coming from. What kind of things can I do or what kind of tradesperson should I hire to find the leak?

Answer:

This is most likely due to condensation inside the wall cavity but anyone specialing in insulation will be able to tell you exactly what the problem is.
