Question:

I am replacing my garage doors. I am looking at two models, both are metal skins over foam. One has a wood interior frame with the hardware screwed to the wood. One has no wood frame, but has the hardware screwed to a metal plate on the inside edge. Is there any significant difference in the strength and insulating value of these two methods of construction?

Answer:

One appears to be as good as the other as far construction goes and one is just as useless as the other as far as insulation value goes.
