Question:

I have two bi-fold doors in my bedroom closet. I have broken the post off the bottom of one as it caught on the carpet. I am wondering if you have any tips for repairing this? I am thinking that we can maybe drill a hole in another bit of wood and set the post in that then glue it inside the door. Do you think that this would help at all?

Answer:

I'd rather retian as much of the wood as possible and introduce a metal plate with the necessary hole in it. adding to the side of the existing one will off-set the door and it will never again close properly.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
