Question:

I plan to build a 1000 square foot cottage, for year around use, in the Thunder Bay, Ontario area. I am installing low-e argon vinyl extruded casement and awning windows. Is there enough energy saving to warrant installing triple glazed rather than double glazed? Is there a better choice of window than vinyl?

Answer:

Vinyl is about your best choice and I doubt that you'd ever get your investment back out of tripple glazed units.
