I have a well built 7 year old 2 storey, 1800 sq. foot home. It has a high effiency gas furnace, a Central Ventilation System with a contol on it in the range of 20 to 80 and a fan control. In the main hall is a contol, again 20 to 80 numbers and on and off switch on the contol. Also a programmable thermastat that I se for 18 at night and 20 for the day. It is very cold upstairs and the windows every morning are dripping wet on the inside. They were resealed by previous owner. Can you plese tell me the proper settings for the HRV nad how to stop the windows from dripping. Humidty always seems to be high in the house yet there is no mold. No separate switches for the bathrooms either.
Answer:
You can open some windows to ventilate the house better and leave them open (1/16") until you see the windows clear up. After that, keep one open on each level to avoid condensation. The HRV will cater to that but you may have to monkey with the settings on it until you reach a happy medium.
