Question:

I listen to your radio show on CKTB. Great show. I have a wooden bay window in the living room of our 20 yr ol semi. The "seat" of the window is quite cold so I would like to insulate it from the outside. The window is about 3 ft above a small garden in the front of the house, which faces north.

Answer:

You can build a cavity under it and then apply a 6mm poly vapour barrier under the seat before loading the cavity down with fibre insulation.
