I am remodelling my basement. I replaced one of the old windows and I'm happy with it. I'd like to do another but it will take about 3 weeks to get the window. I used foam insulation, which must be used at 7c or above. by the time I get the window it will be fairly cold. Is there anything I can use in cold weather or do I need to cover it temp. until the spring?
Answer:
I'm afraid of the foam because not all of them are temperature stable. That means they can shrink back just when you need them the most. I've used only glass fibre insulation in cases like this because it can be stuffed in with something like a flat screw driver and it serves well no matter what the season of application or need.
