Question:

My house is a 4 level back split, 32 years old of approximately 1500 square feet with older windows. Last summer I put in a 1 1/2 ton air conditioner. I have a problem with the windows in my house mildewing during the winter months. I have a humidifier attached to my furnace which delivers moisture to my home via free running water. This may also have caused a problem of my windows now sticking due to swelling I imagine. Do you have any suggestions?

Answer:

Because it is not a flow through humidifier you might very well be right. The flow through units use all the water that is supplied to them and you normally don't have the condensation problem. Mind you, you still have to regulate them.
