Please give me the pro's and con's of breaker boxes versus fuse panels. I have a fuse box that I'm thinking of converting to breaker. Is this a good idea. Is it nessessary, and if it is, how much should this venture cost?
Answer:
The cost I'm not really in a position to comment on but in many jurisdictions, the fuse panels are now strongly discouraged because the breakers are so much more dependable and safe. If you apply for a wiring permit, they'll tell you whether you have to make the big change or you can add ponies to the one you have.
