Hi i am trying to build a small 2 bedroom home 2 level in my back yard( the back yard is 50 feet long and 25 ft wide .I live in Plainfield NJ. Is there State Building Codes/ requirements? Can you please let me know as soon as possible.

There most certainly are codes for such buildings and not only that, you may even run into a space question because in some jurisdictions there are limits on the number of buildings permitted on lots of certain sizes. This is something that a representative from your local building authority will review with you when you apply for a building permit - another necessity. Make sure you have it along with electrical, plumbing, etc. permits that all have to be in place and signed off before you get an "Occupancy permit".
