Question:

I have a ceiling fan with light. I would like to operate the fan and light from 2 different locations? Can I use a switch that has a 3 speed slide and a separate on/off for the light?

Answer:

It depends on the way the fan is wired. If its a top quality one, you should have no problem but I doubt that a lesser one will take kindly to the slide switch.
