I removed a 220V baseboard heater from the mudroom and am replacing it with a 220V wall unit with a fan. While I had the wall open (drywall replaced with 1/2 inch cedar) I relocated the wiring and ran a neutral line from another convenient swich because the original baseboard heater was connected via 14/2 and both were live. Now I see that the wall hung heater only has 2 wires. Do I really need that neutral line or should I dead end it?
Answer:
Follow the instructions that came with your heater and follow them to the letter to prevent all kinds of possible hazards.
