Our current doorbell has just 'burned out' and we're looking to replace it. I'd like to buy a wireless doorbell so that I can easily add a button to our back door (which currently isn't wired for a doorbell). However, I was just wondering what your experience has been with these wireless units. Do they tend to interfere with any other electrical components in the house, such as tvs, radios, cordless phones, garage door openers, etc.? Do they sound like any other normal wired doorbell? Any other issues I should think about before going with this type of doorbell. Does it matter how high on the wall I put the door bell chime? Our current one seems too low so I'm planning on putting the replacement one a bit higher; probably 8-12 inches below the ceiling.

To the best of my knowledge, they don't interfere with anything electrical and they work very well. There is no rule as to how high you have it on the wall but, like yourself, I want the thing higher than what the grandkids can investigate conveniently.
