Question:

I am trying to install a new light fixture outlet (and fixture) into an existing circuit, between an existing light fixture and its controlling switch (goal is to have the 2 fixtures (old and new) controlled by the same switch).

Answer:

You can run your wire to the receptacle of the existing light and then connect the black from the new to the black that operates the light and the white to the white that is again, part of the light. All grounds are connected together and then capped the same as the black and white you just connected. To save confusion, this is the also the order in which you do it but make sure all power to that circuit is turned off while you work on it.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
