Two years ago I purchased a 25 year old home . The hydro panel is a 200 amp service . Our micro wave quit working (blowing internal breaker). We replaced it . It started tripping breakers. We returned it and replaced it. The booklet of instructions said a 20 amp dedicated line . I installed it . # 12 wire and 20 amp fuse . Still trips the breaker . I move the fuse around to several other locations in the box . Still trips breaker . I have a 60 amp service running to my shop so I tried it out there . No tripping breakers . Even works fine on 15 amp . Any ideas as to why ?
Answer:
This appears to have nothing to do with the oven and everything to do with either the plug, the way the breaker is installed in the panel or the cable leading power to the oven. I'd first replace the plug and then start tracing with a meter.
