I have a ceiling fan with your regular 14/2 wiring. my question is that I would like to have the fan on all the time.Thus the wall switch would only control the light from the ceiling fan

You'll have to refer to the ownerhip and installation directions that came with the fan. The colour coding of wires in there is not consistant with all fans so there is no way of doing what you want with it unless you have the instructions and schematic diagram right there.
