Question:

In using electrical junction boxes, when is it necessary to buy the ones with the built in hold down clamps? I thought all wires going into a box needed to be secured to the box.

Answer:

They do but if you're going to be using BX or other cable that is not accommodated by the hold-down clamps, you need to use connectors.
