Question:

You talked several times about a fibre board (4x8 ft sheets) on your show, which you recommend to reduce noise transmissions through walls. You said this fibre board does a lot better job than the usual mineral or fibre bats. Could You please drop me a line and let me know or give me the name of the company who makes it . I am in currently renovated an old home which has 1-1/4 inch thick floor boards in not so great condition. I have to cover them with some board material before the carpet comes. This floor is in the upstairs part of the house. I would like to do now a good job on the sound proofing aspect. I was planning to put safe and sound mineral wool between the joist followed by resilient channel and one layer of 5/8 dry wall. On some walls I was also planning to use mineral wool, resilient channel and 5/8 drywall. I would like to check it now and not after the renovations are done .

Answer:

The product I referred to, to the best of my knowledge, you can get a drywall supply outlet - at least that's where I get if locally.
