I am renovating a 100 year old home, and must repair the hardood floor on the top level. This is directly above the master bedroom. When I lifted the old carpet I found lovely maple flooring that I would like to expose. I must lift and relay much of the floor, but have more stock from elsewhere in the house. Should be enough to do the job. These rooms will be occupied by teenagers. So, how can one get a reasonable, cost effective soundproofing? Is there a product that can be injected through the subfloor above? I dont want to lift the subflooring, but can make holes as needed.
Answer:
Nice try! A capet will do it until they real an age where they appreciate your tollerance (or lack of) for noise.
