I live in a condominium and have sliding doors in the bedrooms and front hall. They "pop/bang", especially during the night, so loud that it wakes me up and I want to know what is causing this and what I can do to stop it. The problem seems to occur more during the Fall - Spring time.
Answer:
The long and the short of it has to do with atmospheric humidity. The humidity level in your condo should be something between 35 and 50%. It is very difficult, particularly in a condominium situation to stay within those paramaters but unless you do, structural components will respond.
