Are you able to direct us in where we would be best to search for a reputable company? I cannot stand the heavy dust that accumulates in our home on a weekly basis. I believe we are in need of a humidifier as well. We have allergies to dust, and must rectify this problem. We are also not handy.

Talk to a masonry contractor and a painter if necessary. Most of the dust is probably coming from the basemetn floor and walls if they are not covered.
