Expert Q
Question:
I own a cedar sided home and I need to re-stain this spring but not before I strip the old stain. I have been told that it is quite difficult to strip the old although right now, it is peeling quite easily. The danger I have been told is consistency and even stripping without leaving marks or patterns in the wood from pressure washing with chemicals. I also have concerns regarding environmental and pet friendly products, as I have two dogs that love to be outside. Also, hopefully, not damaging to my flower beds, as obviously they fall below the siding.
Answer:
Your best bet here is to bring up www.homehelpnet.com and talk to someone who deals in bio-degradable products for the purpose. They are out there.
