Question:

I interpret your answer that it is satisfactory for me to support the addition on patio stones vice sono columns. Can you explain briefly why this is a better approach? I assume that once I solidly attach this addition to the mobile home that it will all move together.

Answer:

No, it won't all move together no matter what you support the addition on. Your original mobile has a given system of support and your addition will not only have a different system, it will be new and will take a few years to settle to the point where the original is. You will have a few (no more with deck blocks than with sunken posts) visible spots of heave damage no matter what you do. I just don't believe in going to all the work of digging and still having the same problems as if I had not.
